ABOUT PIG FEET WALKING TOURS
Pig Feet Walking Tours is a small, independent, boutique walking tour company specializing in offbeat history and food walking tours. I started Pig Feet Walking Tours in 2014 because I couldn’t find walking tours addressing the subjects I’m interested in. Since then, I’ve created and led walking tours for the Barnard College Club of New York, the Bowery Alliance of Neighbors, Google, the Historic District Council, Jane’s Walk, Local Expeditions, the Lower East Side History Project, the Municipal Art Society of New York, the Museum of Sex, New York Adventure Club, the New York Public Library, St. Francis College’s Women and Gender Studies program, the Tenement Museum, the Times Square Alliance, Untapped New York (formerly Untapped Cities), the Urbanist, Urban Sustainability NYC, and the Van Alen Institute.

ABOUT ME: I’m a licensed New York City tour guide, a certified member of the Guides Association of New York City, and a lifelong New York City history buff and adventurous eater. I’m also a published author whose work has appeared in New York Magazine, the Huffington Post, Salon, and many other publications. I was born and raised in Nyack, but have always considered myself a New Yorker. (I was horrified when my parents told me they had moved out of the city to raise a family!) I started exploring the city on my own as a teenager in the 1970s, and moved here permanently in the 1980s. After a successful career in software development, I am now semi-retired and teach part-time at CUNY in Downtown Brooklyn. I live in Chelsea with my wife and am pursuing a Masters in New York Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center.
